With an average fuel consumption on the combined cycle of 70.6mpg UK or 50.8mpg US and 4.0lt /100km, and a combined CO2 rating of 105g/km, the latest Vauxhall / Opel Corsa ecoFLEX is the most economical production vehicle in the company's history. On sale now in the UK, the 3-door only Corsa ecoFLEX that's equipped with 1.3-liter CDTi diesel producing 75HP and 170Nm of torque from just 1,750rpm, features an array of improvements over the outgoing model.
These include a shorter second-gear ratio and enhanced aerodynamics by lowering the Corsa's ride height by 20 millimetres and optimising airflow through its front air intakes. Furthermore, the frugal supermini is equipped with narrower low-rolling resistance tyres (175/70 instead of 185/70), fitted to lighter 14-inch steel wheels with new wheel trims that are part of a weight-saving package that cuts the Corsa ecoFLEX's kerbweight by 45kg or 100 pounds.
In Britain, the Corsa ecoFLEX is available in Life and Club trims with prices starting at £11,295 (US$17,270 or €12,800), while buyers can also use the joint Vauxhall/Government 'scrappage' incentive to obtain a £2,000 discount, reducing this price to £9,295.
